HUNDREDS OF DESCENDANTS THROUGH FAMILY RESEARCH
To discover connections and family relationships, verify them with sources and remove duplicates, we have carried out several time-consuming family research projects. The main focus was on
- Christian Schlesinger (1656-1732), his wife Anna Rosina (1677-1732) and their more than 300 descendants,
- Christoph Seidel (1701-1778), his wife Lucretia Schier (1709-1772) and their more than 200 descendants, and
- Jeremias Pohl and his nearly 300 descendants.
THE BEGINNING OF AN EMIGRATION STORY
We have also begun extensive research into Johann Jonathan Gotthelf Menzel (1775-1847), his wife Johanna Pohl (1783-1846) , and their 11 children. This family’s journey takes them from Bad Warmbrunn (Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój) in Lower Silesia (Poland) via the glassworks in Harrachov (Harrachsdorf) in the Czech Republic and Gernheim (Germany) all the way to the USA.
